Noemi Fuentes, M.D., Ph.D., is a paediatric oncologist and cancer genetics fellow at Kids Cancer Centre, Sydney Children's Hospital. Noemi completed international fellowships in Paediatric Oncology in Spain, the United Kingdom and Australia. She obtained a Masters Degree in Biomedicine and PhD in Epidemiology. She has further sub-specialized by undertaking training in Cancer Genetics.
Noemi joined the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Children’s Cancer institute in 2018 as a postdoctoral clinical research fellow in Cancer Predisposition, focused on the analysis and interpretation of paired tumour-germline genomic profiling in childhood cancer, and the translation of these findings into a meaningful model of care as part of ZERO Precision Medicine Program.
Noemi is involved in the development of a number of national clinical guidelines for the surveillance of children with cancer predisposition syndromes and coordinate the Cancer PREDisposItion in Childhood by Trio-based sequencing (PREDICT) Study, a state-wide pilot study that analyses trio-based whole genome sequencing in every newly diagnosed child and AYA with cancer.
